Vietnam e-Visa Online Application
Vietnam electronic visa for arriving by land crossing or borders.
Since February 1st 2017, the Government of Vietnam has implemented the e-Visa. The new online process simplifies the procedures to enter Vietnam by allowing travellers to apply directly online for a visa. Hence, there is no more need to apply for an “approval letter”, which require to queue, process and pay an additional stamp for “visa on arrival” once arrived to Vietnam.
What's Vietnam e-Visa?
The e-Visa is an electronic travel authorization from the Vietnam Government for up to 30 consecutive days, issued in PDF format. It is the equivalent to a visa, but no stamp or label is placed in the passport. The e-Visa is an entry requirement to travel to and within Vietnam for any of the following reasons:
- Tourism
- Business
- Visiting relatives/friends
- Investment
- Journalism
- Official Visit
- Labor, Employment
- Office, Organization of Economy, Culture, Technology, Non-Government

COVID-19/visa
Mar 14, 2020Hello,
Me and my partner are currently in Thailand and plan to travel to Laos and Cambodia in the coming weeks. We had planned to then travel to Ho Chi Minh City from Phnom Penh towards the end of April, however we have heard that the visa waiver program for UK citizens has been suspended and have also heard that you are no longer processing e-visa applications due to the corona virus. Could you advise us on whether we are still able to get an e-visa for Travel to Vietnam or whether this is not possible despite having been in South East Asia since the beginning of March?

RE: Can I apply for an e-visa or a visa extension?
Mar 13, 2020Dear Sir / Madam
I would like to find out if I can apply for an e-visa or visa extension. I am currently in Vietnam with a valid passport.
I have a 3 month multiple entry visa for Vietnam that expires on 6 May 2020. I woud like to apply to stay for another 3 months if at all possible. My life partner works for Jetstar Pacific, so he is here on a work permit. I stay with him and at the moment with the COVID-19 situation, I would like to avoid any type of travel as far as possible and rather stay inside the country for another few months. Can you please give us guidance as to what we are able to do about the situation?Vietnam Evisa SupportApr 02, 2020Dear Adele Van De Venter,

For the 2nd entry: you need visa to reenter and can apply E-visa at this link: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-e-visa.html

Visa Vietnam/Phú Quốc
Dec 19, 2019I am currently travelling cambodia and I want to visit Phú Quốc from the 29.12.2019 until the 10.01.2020 and I want to go back to cambodia afterwards.
I want to avoid going there by plane so I will travel to Phú Quốc by bus and boat.
Do I need a visa for what I have planned?
Do you have any recommendations for me to save money when going from cambodia to Phú Quốc and then back to cambodia?
Thanks in advance and have a great day !Vietnam Evisa SupportDec 20, 2019Dear Jan,
Thanks for your question,
We would like to inform that all visitors from foreign countries do not need a Vietnam visa if they stay in Phu Quoc for no more than 30 days.
Requirements for Phu Quoc Visa Exemption: To be eligible for Phu Quoc 30 day visa waiver, visitors must meet the requirements below:
+ Your passport must be valid for 6 months since your arrival date or else you should renew it prior to taking the trip to Phu Quoc.
+ You must fly from an international country to Phu Quoc via the Phu Quoc International Airport. This applies to direct, indirect and layover flights, where your final destination along the route is Phu Quoc. The onward destination could be any country, except Vietnam.
+ Your stay on the island must be less than 30 days. You must provide proof (return airplane ticket, cruise ship departure date, etc.) that you will be leaving Phu Quoc Island within 30 days in order to be granted a “Visa Exemption Stamp”.
+ You travel to Phu Quoc by sea (ship or cruise) or by air (airplane), not by land border.
In case you plan to visit other destinations in Vietnam after Phu Quoc or want to stay for more than 30 days, getting a Vietnam visa is a must.
Thanks and best regards,

NatalieUnited KingdomMar 16, 2020Hi, we are British cirizens but live in Hong Kong and flying into Phu Quoc from HK on 9th April and plan to stay here until 13th when we fly back to Hong Kong indirectly through Ho Chi Minh. I understand that there is a visa exemption for Phu Quoc when flying in directly for up to 30 days.
1. Is this still exemption still covered given that the Vietnamese government are no longer issuing visas for British citizens for mainland Vietnam?
2. As we will be flying back from Phu Quoc to HCM domestically but will not leave the airport and will be in transit before we fly back to Hong Kong, do we need a visa?
Thanks
NatalieVietnam Evisa SupportApr 02, 2020Dear Natalie,
Visa exemption for Phu Quoc temporarily suspended for all Nationalities,
It is informed that due to the COVID-19 outbreak recently, The Vietnam Government will deny to issue visa on arrival or evisa for ALL NATIONALITIES (even if they already had the approval letter)
This decision will be effective from 12:00 (noon), 15 March 2020 for 30 days, and not be applicable to entrants for diplomatic or official purposes,
Please cancel your trip and wait until everything is getting better.
Best Regards.

If you arrive by the 15 days visa exemption for British passport holder, then you'll get the 15 days visa stamp only.
Even you get the Evisa later, you cannot use it to stay 30 days when you're already there.
However, if you want to prolong your stay, you can do the visa extension.
Incase you arrive Ho Chi Minh city, we can help you with the extension

When i want to applay for the evisa i didn't find my country

It is informed that Sudan passport holderscan apply online on our website for Visa On Arrival but we JUST can help you to process 1 month single tourist visa and the service fee is $150US/person (not including $25US/person stamping fee at Vietnam airport).
However, the Vietnam Immigration does not process 1 month visa for full 30 days, they just base on your ticket to process visa (maximum 25 days).
The processing will take 7 working days.
You can apply online at this link: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html
After finishing payment online, please send us your passport scan + hotel booking + return ticket + front side of your credit card which you used to pay for the application via email.
Without those documents, we can’t process visa for you
If you want to stay longer, please go to the Vietnam Embassy to apply visa.

E visa
Feb 20, 2019So I buy e visa online and print it out, at the entry border from Phenom Penh, they did not check my e visa and they wrote an expirary date in my passport for 15 days, now 6 days before my e visa is due to expire, I try and renew it in Hoi An and they take no notice of the e visa and tell me that they can only go off the date in my passport, even though the e visa is printed out for them to see with an expirary date.
They tell me that only Saigon and Hanoi can process e visa extensions.
I feel as though I have been scammed and I’m in a situation now where I am facing a fine of £250 which I cannot afford. I really don’t trust e visas.Vietnam Evisa SupportFeb 21, 2019Dear Emily-Jayne Carswell,
With UK passport holders, you can enter VIETNAM by visa exemption for 15 days
Therefore, you have to show them the approval letter which mention your visa longer than 15 days to get visa stamp and visa sticker
In your case, we are sorry since you got bad experience with visa proceudre
You should contact travel agent at city nearby your place for extension visa
